Crystal bowl
Hello,
A buyer refused to accept the package containing a crystal bowl, because he heard breakage noises in the box.
If I offer him a partial refund, what happens to the eBay fees? Are they partially refunded?
The carrier Mondial Relay clearly disclaims the risk of breakage in its terms and conditions of sale!

Mentor2 years agoHello,
The package will be returned to you > have the damage noted by the delivery person and make a reimbursement claim with MR insurance > then it’s up to you to refund the buyer the total amount paid as well as the shipping costs

OP2 years agoWhat I would like to know (in this situation, both parties are taking
risks since Mondial Relay is dodging any responsibility for breakage) is, if I
offer a partial, not full, refund, does eBay make up the
amount paid to the buyer from part of the fees collected by eBay?
Thanks in advance.

Mentor2 years agoHello
As you are responsible for your item until it is received by the buyer, you will refund the full amount paid to the buyer..
Ebay will not compensate either you or him; you will have to make do with the carrier's compensation (and even then it's not even certain if the buyer didn't report anything upon delivery).
