EBAY DECISION FOLLOWING RETURN REQUEST
Summary: jean-marverne_0 bought an electronic part on eBay, but after a four-week trip discovered that the part does not match the listing and does not work. Having exceeded the 30-day return window, jean-marverne_0 is looking for help to get a refund. koalagris explains the need to act within the allotted time, while lingma85 suggests checking the dispute options through PayPal and considering administrative steps to resolve the problem.
I bought an electronic part on March 3 and delivery was made on March 6. Since I had to be away for 4 weeks, the part was installed on the device when I returned, but it does not work.
After checking, the part reference numbers shown in the listing on the EBAY site and those on the delivered part do not match, and therefore my device cannot work with this part.
I submitted a return request with a refund and found that my request was closed by eBay without any information about the reason for the closure, and I do not know whether I can return the part and obtain a refund.

Mentor2 years agoHello @jean-marverne_0
Aside from the reasons for your long-term trip that prevent you from asserting the non-compliance of your purchase... you have a few ways to be heard, such as for example..
1) - if you paid by paypal... you normally have 180 days to open a dispute for non-compliance... check with your paypal account if you have one and especially if you paid with it...
2) - if you bought from a French professional... send them a registered letter demanding that they replace the item and/or compensate you for the invalid part, within a timeframe you determine, failing which you open a case with the DGCCRF in their city (or yours = it makes no difference..)
(you have their address on their account and/or on the packaging you received )
It's worth trying... because on the site, you can no longer expect anything from them since the deadlines are past...
Best regards

Hello ??? 😕
The return request must be made within 30 days of the delivery date (6/3 = by 5/4 at the latest):
https://www.ebay.fr/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/renvoyer-un-objet-pour-obtenir-un-remboursement?id=4041&st=3&pos=1&query=Renvoyer%20un%20objet%20pour%20obtenir%20un%20remboursement&intent=objet%20non%20conforme&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1134
is that really the case?
If so, check with customer service ("ask us to call you" at the very bottom of the help page)

OP2 years agoIndeed HELLO!
But when you send different complaint emails each time explaining the issue, you can understand that politeness formulas ....
Indeed I am outside the deadline as explained because of a long-term business trip. Moreover, the references shown in the listing and those on the delivered part do not match, knowing that I contacted the seller before ordering to get confirmation that it was the correct part based on the items advertised and what I was expecting. It’s the exact opposite! I understand that certain rules are in place, but they must be applied depending on the issue.
I am simply asking that the seller’s mistake be acknowledged and that they accept the return of the part with a refund.
It would be a shame to end up in administrative proceedings for deceit !!!
Kind regards
koalagris
Mentor2 years ago" when you send different complaint emails explaining the issue each time, you will understand that polite phrases" = don’t confuse customer service AND this forum between users (members like you, who take time out of their day to reply voluntarily).
In any procedure there are complaint deadlines (whatever the situation), once they’ve passed what do you want us to magically come up with as a miracle solution? 🙃
You have 30 days to test the item you bought, not 1 more on eBay: it’s up to you to organize accordingly before buying.
