request for a refund after canceling the firs
Summary: naitajeanp contacted eBay about an order for a spare wheel that arrived in poor condition and differed from the description. After accidentally canceling an initial return request, the seller accepted the return, but eBay doesn’t allow a new request to be created. koalagris clarified that reactivating the original request is impossible on eBay but suggested making a return request through PayPal if that’s possible.
Hello,
I’m contacting you regarding order no. 2********.
I had opened a return request for an item received that did not match the description, but unfortunately I cancelled this request by mistake via the eBay interface.
The item in question is a spare wheel advertised as “new,” whereas the tire received has a dull and dirty condition that does not, in my view, match the listing description.
The seller is not opposed to the return but is telling me that a new return request has to be opened. However, eBay no longer allows me to create a new one following the accidental cancellation.
I would therefore like to know whether it is possible to reactivate the original return request or open a new return/dispute case so that I can proceed with the return and refund through eBay buyer protection.
I can provide photos of the item as well as the exchanges with the seller if necessary.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
koalagris

"So I’d like to know whether it’s possible to reactivate the original return request" = impossible, and on eBay it’s 1 return request per item...
"The seller is not opposed to the return but tells me that I need to open a new return request. " = I’d say your seller is perfectly aware of that.
If you paid by PayPal, make a return request on their site.
Best regards
