Two sellers for the same item. Fraud?
Hello everyone
I collect minerals that are always unique pieces, but the same item is being sold by two Chinese sellers in private auctions I suspect manipulation to artificially drive up the bids.
can you tell me if this is possible
thanks in advance

Is it really 2 merchants...??
- or just 1 who would have 2 accounts...??
What matters is the item and the maximum price you're willing to pay for it...

OP2 years agogood evening and thank you for your reply
I bid on a collectible item from China. There were regular bids, and I didn’t win the item, which appeared as sold.
the same item was put back up for sale exactly with the same listing by another dealer... same scenario and item marked as sold.
a third dealer is also now offering this item. I bid, but I’m under no illusions.
I also received an offer from a fourth dealer at nearly 4x the amount of the price of the items sold.
bottom line for one item: 2 sales. one bid in progress and one offer.
I’m having trouble keeping up and this doesn’t seem very right to me.
what should I do?
thanks for your advice

There’s nothing you can do about it.
Report the sellers if you really want to (see the "help" section at the bottom right), but I seriously doubt your arguments will be accepted... and in any case the action will in no way lead to a completed transaction.

OP2 years agohello.
thank you for your reply which alas does not solve my problem and leaves me perplexed.
if a seller puts an item up for sale and drives up the bids with other accounts, that skews the results. moreover, they keep relisting the same item over and over as soon as the sale ends.
best regards
