Doubts about a seller
Summary: bendubou_0 expressed doubts about an expensive hi-fi equipment seller based in Romania, wondering whether it could be fraud or stolen goods. max2661953 and koalagris advised not to share the seller's username, to carefully review the seller's profile, and to check eBay's warranty policies. lingma85 recommended caution, bringing up the possible costs and complications related to after-sales service and returns, and concluded that it's better to hold off if there's any doubt.
Hello,
I’m writing to you because I have some doubts about a seller.
He sells rather expensive hi-fi equipment from a country, Romania, where this equipment probably isn’t particularly easy to get. These ratings are all extremely positive and very numerous. Could it be that all this is fake? That these are stolen items?
Thanks for your info

Aside from the fact reported by @max2661953 ...
- if you have any doubts.. move along...
Just a few questions to see..
- what about after-sales service...???
or
- the amount of shipping costs for a possible return...???
and/or
- the loss of time and/or money in the event of a bad purchase...?
Think about all that...

Mentor2 years agoGood evening,
Quoting a username on the forum is not allowed:
https://www.ebay.fr/help/policies/member-behaviour-policies/boards-usage-policy?id=4705
Then it's up to you to dig into their profile (feedback received/given, successful sales, etc.), but also watch out for hacked accounts (see if the account was inactive for a long period before suddenly listing a lot of items).
Finally, you should read the terms and conditions regarding buyer protection:
https://www.ebay.fr/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/rglement-de-la-garantie-client-ebay?id=4210&st=3&pos=1&query=R%C3%A8glement%20de%20la%20Garantie%20client%20eBay&intent=garantie%20client%20ebay&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1238
And to wrap up, the best advice I can give you is: if in doubt, don't go for it (or even "if it looks too good to be true...")
Also think about after-sales service: when it comes to "fairly expensive hi-fi equipment", what will you do if it breaks down? Buying from a French professional seems to me, at the very least, much more sensible.
Best regards
