Suspicious email: customs fees following a purchase in the USA
Summary: jjbrpeltier shared an experience about a purchase in the USA with package tracking and a suspicious email asking to confirm shipping details, which seemed to be phishing. francexpressdeal confirmed that it was indeed a phishing attempt. Later, *miss-tigri* advised using a tracking site to regularly check the delivery status and mentioned a 30-day period to report a package not received.
Hello, My purchase in the USA has moved:
Thu. Nov. 7 16:05 Arrived at USPS Facility
Thu. Nov. 7 08:06 Customs Clearance LOS ANGELES, CA 90045
and I got an email last night titled :
⎣Ꭵvraison en cours : confirm your shipping details
with : [1] Package awaiting delivery …
The shipping details
from <[Coordonnée]>
mentioning delivery of the suspended package because of customs fees and telling me to go to
[Lien]
that smells like phishing but what makes me hesitate is the message received even though my package is moving
thoughts?
