Auctions that cancel themselves
Summary: An eBay user, brume33, encountered problems with their bids, which were automatically canceled without their intervention. Despite contacting customer service, no initial response was provided. Following koalagris’s advice, they continued the inquiry with eBay, which revealed that the listing was non-compliant, causing automatic cancellations due to a bug. In the end, eBay confirmed that no fees would be charged, bringing this mishap to a positive close. Other participants, such as adan10_1, expressed interest in learning the resolution.
New to eBay, I listed an item for auction on November 5. I got 17 bids for an amount of more than 2000 euros but they suddenly disappeared without any action on my part, without any message from eBay.
In the bid summary, I can see that there were 17 withdrawals at the same time, to the second, all cancelled by me myself "auction-cancelled-by-seller".
I sent an email to eBay asking them what happened, but they still haven't replied. Just to be safe, I change my passwords, I set up multi-factor authentication and the bids continue.
It's back up to more than 2000 euros again.
And this noon, all the bids get cancelled and I'm back to the starting amount, with the same reason "auctions cancelled by seller"
So, I make a decision, I end the sale.. The problem is that I receive a message from eBay this evening telling me that I will be charged 202.20 euros.
I understand being charged 202.2 euros because I ended the sale, that must be automatic, but how is it that the bids could be cancelled like that, does that happen often on eBay? Is there a way to dispute these fees in relation to these bid cancellations?

OP1 year agoC'est ce que j'ai fait, j'ai été rappelé très rapidement, ils vont enquêter et reviennent vers moi. J'espère qu'ils vont pouvoir vérifier que je ne suis pas à l'origine de ces annulations, je n'aurai eu aucun intérêt à le faire.. Et surtout j'espère qu'ils vont annuler les frais.. On m'a conseillé de ne pas faire opposition au prélèvement.
Bizarrement, j'ai fait des recherches sur le problème que j'ai rencontré (annulation des enchère en masse) et je n'ai rien trouvé, c'est fréquent ?
