Hello,
New to eBay, thanks for your clarification. I sold an item and what is the procedure for shipping it?
Do I print the slip and send it via the post, or do I need to go through eBay's shipping rates?

you have no obligation to go through eBay's shipping system. You can perfectly well go directly through the Post Office.
In that case, you'll just need to remember to add the tracking number on the site.
