Negative seller-to-buyer evaluation
I am a pro seller. In order to respond to a dishonest buyer sending a neutral rating with a very negative comment, I was not able to leave them a neutral or negative rating on their profile. When sending my comment, I don't have the option "Positive, neutral or negative rating," the latter is automatically Positive. Why? Thank you for your reply!

OP2 years agoI just got a reply from Ebay about my problem: it’s infuriating:
"After reviewing your account, I am delighted to inform you that the primary goal of the ratings system should be to allow buyers to accurately evaluate sellers’ performance in order to promote safe and satisfactory transactions. Buyers’ fear of sellers getting revenge has reduced the credibility of the ratings system and trust, WHICH HURTS BUSINESS.
More often than not, disputes and the negative or neutral ratings that result from them are the result of a misunderstanding, due to poor communication between buyers and sellers.
In addition, leaving positive feedback for the buyer (when everything goes well) may encourage them to do the same, and this can become one of the elements (along with careful packaging, acknowledgment of payment receipt, or good communication) that make up a seller’s quality and keep customers coming back."
For those who didn’t read to the end, in summary:
As a SELLER, you are not reliable: the BUYER is KING"

"For those who haven't read to the end, in short:
As a SELLER, you are not reliable: the BUYER is KING""
It's been that way since 2008... and it looks like you've just discovered it....
Whether on the net or in real life... a supplier (or seller) almost always gets the bad role... (that of the exploiter whose demands have to be knocked down...) and it's not about to stop...
The fact of taking a % to keep a business running or survive is very badly viewed..... and leads to ever more indigestible tax or impôt grabs (created by people who have never worked and therefore don't know what it is to take risks to earn their crust..... employees they are -ranked or not-... employees they will remain.. and always with the same mindset that was drilled into them on the benches of the grandes écoles..)......
There... if we want to survive... we have to build up a shell and resist the pressure...
Best regards

Mentor2 years agoIt's precisely to avoid retaliatory feedback that eBay removed sellers' ability to leave negative feedback ....

OP2 years agoThank you for your response, all of this is totally outrageous. The buyer is KING!

Mentor2 years agoSince May 2008, buyers can only receive positive feedback.

OP2 years agoThank you for your reply, it’s still totally outrageous. A buyer is KING and can simply hold all the cards on Ebay, blackmail the seller (this has already happened to me...) or, depending on their mood, destroy a seller with totally false information. GREAT! When Ebay tells you that we can reply to these famous comments on our profile, they know full well that the damage is already done: even if you have hundreds of positive ratings, potential buyers will obviously rush to the single neutral or negative rating, which is there like the icing on the cake, and make up their mind about the seller... Who are they kidding...

Mentor2 years agoThe latest eBay updates continue along this path; always pushing a little further the adage "the customer is always right" :
