Parcel shipment
Summary: ste38200 wonders why a seller asked for their email to generate a Mondial Relay label, since that isn’t usual. koalagris explains that sellers can get the label either through the shipping platform or directly on the carrier’s website, which doesn’t always require an email. ste38200 thinks using the platform would be simpler, but koalagris clarifies that going through the platform limits the options and makes things harder to manage if there’s a problem.
Hello everyone,
A question: when placing an order, the seller asks me for my email to generate the Mondial Relay label, but usually nobody asks me. I did a label simulation on Mondial Relay and indeed they ask for the recipient's email to generate the label. But then, how do the others do it, since they didn't ask me for anything and I did receive the tracking and pickup info for the locker. I'd really like to know so I can possibly give the instructions to the next person who asks me for my email. Thank you, kind regards.

Mentor9 months agoGood evening @ste38200
Sellers can buy their shipping label through the eBay shipping platform or directly on the carrier’s website, that’s where there’s a difference in how the buyer’s info is transmitted.
There’s no procedure to pass on to the seller since they’re free to buy postage wherever they want...
Best regards

Mentor9 months agoNo, because not only are there fewer pickup point options, but on top of that, if the carrier fails, it's a lot more complicated for the seller to handle (since they are then no longer the holder of the transport receipt).
So it's very clearly preferable NOT to go through the platform...
