Package shipping
Summary: dag.fr.3v642wklt explains that they sent an item by mail, but discovered that the buyer had changed the delivery address without any prior notification. Despite there being no declared value when it was shipped, the parcel is supposed to be delivered with a signature. lingma85 is surprised by this change without any communication and wonders about the insurance taken out. dag.fr.3v642wklt hopes to avoid a potential scam and is waiting for news the next day.
Hello everyone.
I sent an item by post. It was supposed to go to a very specific address, but the buyer went ahead and changed the delivery address without letting me know.
As a result, this item, worth €290, has been wandering somewhere in France since last Friday.
Of course, eBay does not protect me in the event the parcel is lost.
So, what happens next in that case ??
Thank you for reading and kind regards.

Mentor2 years agoHello @dag.fr.3v642wklt
Unless I’m mistaken, a buyer can only request a change to the delivery address by contacting the seller to make that change...
- so, I don’t see how your buyer could have done it without you knowing...
On the other hand, for such an amount, I suppose you made sure to insure your shipment for its full value (postage included)... because the issue can only be resolved between you and your buyer since the latter gave you authority (by paying you shipping fees) to deliver their purchase...
- otherwise, in the event of loss, Colissimo will only reimburse you the value of €23/kg... which is little compared to the value you indicate, since it will be that amount that you will reimburse your buyer ...
Coming back to this address change, how do you know it would have been changed if you weren’t informed, as you write...???
Kind regards

OP2 years agoFirstly, the problem is at the time of validating the
shipment, where I was unable to enter a declared value even by
trying again several times.
Regarding the shipment, and therefore the tracking of the parcel, I realized that it
had not arrived at the correct address. It was by asking the buyer by
email that he confirmed to me that he had changed the delivery address without
informing me.
The parcel is scheduled for delivery with signature, hoping not to have
to deal with a trick from the buyer. Reply tomorrow.
Regards.
