Customs duties with the USA

I bought Jaguar rear lights in the USA, eBay calculated my invoice with shipping costs and other taxes, delivery by FEDEX, which two months after delivery is asking me for customs fees with additional processing fees and VAT, all amounting to more than 40 euros, is this normal? thanks for your answers

You are an importer and therefore you have to pay customs clearance for your purchase. This has nothing to do with shipping costs or other state taxes owed in the US. Pay taxes on purchases made on eBay | eBay
So it is normal that Fedex asks you to reimburse them for customs fees if Fedex paid them for you.
