shipping costs not compliant
Summary: lesrobotcop complains about having paid excessive shipping fees of €25 for an item bought on eBay, when the actual cost was €7.40. The seller responded insultingly, claiming to have the right to set his own fees. koalagris explains that this practice, although questionable, complies with eBay rules because the fees are visible before purchase. He suggests leaving negative feedback for the shipping fees and provides a link to contact customer service for confirmation.
Hello everyone.
I bought an item from a dishonest seller! He increases shipping costs excessively. (I paid €50 for a real cost of €7.40; Mondial Relay 2.5kg). The seller, when contacted, replies with insults and comments worthy of a primary school playground, saying that he has the right to charge whatever shipping costs he wants....
How do I contact EBAY, for now it's robots handling this dispute without really taking the problem into account..
It's the first time I've come across such a person on EBAY.
Thanks in advance

Mentor1 year agoHello @lesrobotcop
Was the shipping, on the listing, really set at €50 with Mondial Relay? Didn’t that raise any eyebrows for you?
Without endorsing this practice, it should be noted that it does not constitute a violation of the site rules: eBay lets sellers freely set shipping costs.
They are clearly displayed on the listing, so any validation (and payment) by the buyer counts as acceptance.
That’s why it isn’t grounds for a dispute.
The only option is when leaving feedback: the stars regarding shipping costs...
