USA shipping costs: automatic upward adjustment if the price is low? | Community Mentor Help

Hello everyone, A regular eBay buyer/seller a little over 10 years ago, and someone who used to order very often from the USA back then, I’ve found that now it’s becoming uninteresting, or even counterproductive, to order from there (in my case). Inflation, eBay International Shipping, VAT... A lot of water has flowed under the bridge. Shipping fees/miscellaneous fees are now outrageous. However, I’d like to get an explanation for a rather annoying phenomenon, please. For the same item, the sale price can vary a lot, especially in the USA, nothing new there. The fact that there is a minimum amount for shipping costs is normal. How can these shipping cost differences be explained, since they seem to adjust automatically so as not to go below a certain threshold by a few euros either way (price + shipping costs)? So, I’m unable to find this item for less than 10 dollars without the shipping costs going over 20 dollars. Something is escaping me. Is this linked to the eBay Internatiol Shipping system?
