Sales fees.
Summary: jalorda shares their frustrating experience about fees charged by eBay despite their item not selling. After contacting support, who had promised to cancel the fees, they are still there. koalagris suggests these fees might be related to listing options, and provides a link to additional information.
Hello, a few years ago I tried to sell an item, it didn't sell and I wanted to close my account. Then I discovered that I had been charged fees. (So not only did I not make any money, but on top of that I have to pay?)
Anyway, I politely asked support to remove these fees and the person assured me that it would be done (it was via an Ebay support chat if I remember correctly). I wait a few days, still nothing. I tell myself that it takes time and I wait.
In the meantime I forget about it and tonight I receive an email from the site, so I remember it exists and decide to close my account. What a surprise it was to discover that I still had fees to pay!
No, but at what point is it normal (and above all legal) to make people pay for nothing? genuine question.
