Unable to leave a negative rating?
Summary: dsonla complained about the impossibility of leaving negative feedback for a buyer who hasn't paid. *miss-tigri* and koalagris clarified that this option has been removed for buyers since May 2008. dsonla was surprised and wondered whether he might have seen the old interface, concluding that there was no way to leave negative feedback.

Is it just me, or is it impossible to leave negative feedback since this summer?
I found myself in the case of a buyer who won an auction but never paid. Wanting to be understanding (I know that the end of the month can be hard), I let more than a week go by and then followed up with the buyer by message. A message to which I never received a reply.
Wanting to leave negative feedback for the user (after canceling the order), I realized that the "new feedback system" no longer lets you choose between positive/neutral/negative as before. I only have the choice between "Use custom feedback" and "Use saved feedback".
So, naively, I thought that Ebay's system would "read" the feedback and determine whether it was positive or negative according to the text.
Wrong! My review ended up being classified as negative.
So, has the ability to leave negative feedback simply disappeared?

Your answers are making me doubt my sanity. And yet I'm convinced I saw "the old interface" in the spring. But it's possible that was when I was a buyer.
Well, so there's no way to leave negative feedback for this buyer.

Buyers can no longer receive negative or neutral feedback since MAY 2008.
