Unable to remove a listing on eBay and the resulting issues

I posted an ad on Ebay, however, the item was sold quickly on another site. I tried on eBay to delete the ad, but impossible, I spent half an hour on it, no delete option, absolutely impossible to remove the ad. In the meantime, the item was therefore sold on Ebay, and of course this created problems. The seller was refunded.
Today, eBay is demanding the selling fees from me, which I will not pay because of their crappy site where it is impossible to delete an ad. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem? thanks

As for the fees claimed... Check with Customer Service to see if they might offer you a goodwill gesture... (but that’s not guaranteed...)
