Unable to complete a purchase: "item no longer available" or "An error occurred"
Summary: nico353535 reported a problem on eBay involving the inability to complete purchases because of an error message saying the items are no longer available. koalagris confirmed that this bug has been brought up by several users, but without any documented solution. lingma85 pointed out that the forum is not the place to fix technical bugs, and advised contacting eBay customer service directly. A somewhat tense exchange followed about expectations for the community to provide practical solutions.
Hello,
Whether I try to make an immediate purchase or validate the contents of my cart, I get the following error messages respectively:
"Item no longer available" (for all the items, I even tried this on random items, same thing)
and
"A problem occurred. Please complete your purchase again"
I have never had this problem before, and I bought my last item on 11/07/2025
But since 12/07/2025, it has been impossible to complete a purchase.
I saw that a few other people are having this issue too? Is this a current bug on eBay?
Thanks for your replies.

OP1 year agoThanks for telling me, as I had already pointed out, that this bug seems widespread....
What people are looking for is not for people to waste everyone's time for nothing and, in the end, bring nothing positive...
But... simply..... an answer: is there a solution to this bug, and if so, what is it? (nothing more, nothing less....)
Common sense, right... (= apparently that's too much to ask)
"but you're stupid, you're creating a topic about a problem that has already been reported" (I'm anticipating comments...).... well, when a problem is reported MANY times, the responsiveness of the people in charge (here, Ebay) is potentially faster, for obvious reasons...
Anyway, I see that the (very very) bad reputation of the community here is largely justified.....-sigh-

Mentor1 year agoAre site users supposed to guess when ebay is going to fix this unavoidable bug?
Feel free to contact customer service and ask them the question, as far as the forum goes there's nothing else to recommend.
= don't forget to come back and share the response you'll get from the site, because so far, apart from needlessly multiplying threads on the same topic, nobody bothers to contact ebay, so if on top of that we have to get scolded because we don't do it for you...

Mentor1 year agoHello @nico353535
You say------> "In short, I see that the (very, very) bad reputation of the community here is largely justified"
If you say so...!!! ...
but that would be due to the fact that it would be created and especially spread by users like you who still haven't understood that the forum is not the site's bug-fix workshop...
Here, there are people with empathy for the lost souls who don't know how to use the site and even less their brains... but who have no physical or other means to force the site to get its programmers to act if they are not aware or not conscious of what's going on...
Have a good weekend
Best regards
