Customer account information
Summary: aurelo-2013 shares their experience with a sale on eBay, where a potential buyer wanted to buy a coffee maker from their listing. The buyer, based in Bordeaux, asked for shipping via Mondial Relay, which aurelo-2013 refused for weight reasons. The buyer then contacted aurelo-2013 with another account, claiming to have reached a messaging limit. *miss-tigri* and francexpressdeal confirm that certain messaging restrictions do exist on eBay, including a limit of 10 messages per 24 hours to prevent transactions off the platform.
I am getting in touch with you following an ad that I posted on eBay, which is perfectly normal.
The listing has been on eBay for a little while, and just today I was contacted by someone who would be interested; it is about my listing for those who would like to go and look at my listings and therefore what I am selling, the lot of 2 coffee makers.
From there he makes me understand that he would like to get one of these two coffee makers. I tell him that there is no problem, that I can sell, or rather that I can separate the lot and therefore sell one of the two coffee machines.
No problem, the discussion continues. From there he makes me understand that he is not on site, that he is in Bordeaux, but that he will not be back before August 21, he stays until the 23rd, and then he goes back to Bordeaux until September.
The problem being the following: I am not there from this Sunday the 20th until next Friday, so I told him that at best we could meet tomorrow, so Saturday May 19, given that he is not on site before the 21st, that is not possible. He asks me to send it via Mondial Relay, I tell him no as a precaution because it still weighs 20 kg.
As a result, the discussion continues in an effort to sort it out a bit. I make him understand that I can leave the coffee maker with a shopkeeper or with a caretaker I know. From there everything is going well and 5 or 10 minutes pass, then he contacts me again via a second account that was opened last September, from 0 to life, so I find it strange that he changed accounts and he told me something that nobody had told me before, yet I have been a member of the eBay platform for a little while. He told me that he had reached the limit for sending and receiving messages; basically he can no longer send messages from his eBay account, so my question is this: is it possible to no longer be able to send messages via a conversation between a buyer and a seller.
Please reply to me as soon as you have the time and opportunity, I would like to have an answer before Saturday, so before tomorrow, because on my side I am leaving on Sunday, so if there is no issue, if it can happen to no longer be able to send messages from his account, I will take the coffee maker to the caretaker in question.
Yours faithfully,
Mr. LAGACHE

" is it possible to no longer be able to send messages via a conversation between a buyer and a seller. "
Yes, it is perfectly possible beyond 10 messages per 24 hours sent to the same member.

Indeed eBay limits the number of messages between seller and buyer to avoid sales outside eBay..
