Report Ebay about a dishonest seller.
Summary: danforce_fr shared their experience buying a laptop through a highly rated seller on eBay, describing how they discovered that the CPU and GPU were missing because they had been desoldered. They tried to contact the seller but got no response. lingma85 suggested that the "HS" mention in the listing title indicated the product was faulty and pointed out that the claim was no longer valid outside eBay's 30-day protection period. They also noted that buying a device already listed as "out of service" was risky.
Hello, I bought on Ebay in early June 2026 from a well-rated seller, ASUS ROG STRIX G553VW LAPTOP, INTEL Core i7 6600HQ GTX960 HS. I was on vacation so I was away in June and since I had other PCs waiting, I only opened the box in early September. It’s the first time I’ve seen this; it’s not that the motherboard is faulty, it’s that the CPU & the GPU are missing!! they had been desoldered!! I wrote to the seller with a photo of the board, 3 messages, no response. I know I took too long to open this box, but it seems abnormal to me that such practices could still be allowed to continue here. What do you think?

You give the title of the listing you bought...
, ASUS ROG STRIX G553VW LAPTOP INTEL Core i7 6600HQ GTX960 broken
the title ends with the 2 letters "broken"... and that means the PC is For Parts...
That you didn't read it or misunderstood it may be possible, but it's not something to hold against the seller or the site...
You spent time opening the parcel..
indeed, that's not very smart..
the site's "protection" is only 30 days after delivery... so on that front, it's time-barred...
On the other hand...
to come and complain and/or explain that the device is unusable... that's also a strange idea when you bought it broken, whatever the fault... and nobody forced you to...
Regards
.
