iPhone 16 pro Max
Summary: benedicu_0 bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max for a friend, but is running into problems with the delivery and pickup of the package at a DHL distribution center, since his friend can’t pick it up. The package was returned to the seller, and benedicu_0 ends up in a dispute on eBay, receiving neither a refund nor the phone. koalagris explains that since the package wasn’t collected, it may not be covered by eBay’s guarantee. benedicu_0 is looking for advice on how to solve this problem.
I’ve had a problem over the past few days. And I’d like some help.
Indeed, I bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max last December 25 for my friend. I had it sent to her address, except that she lives in an asylum camp and the DHL delivery person didn’t go there but instead left the package at the nearest distribution center. So I received the email saying that the package had been delivered to this pickup center. I sent her the email with the parcel number. She went there to pick up the package, but the DHL people told her that her card did not allow her to collect the package and that the package would be returned to the seller. Which we accepted. I contacted eBay to explain the situation, and they told me there was a way to change the recipient’s address (which I absolutely wanted), but I looked in the app for how to do it and couldn’t find it.
To make a long story short, we ended up in a dispute with the seller on eBay without me knowing why there was a dispute. I just wanted the package to go back to the seller so he would send it to my address. But eBay and the seller that I lost the dispute and that I would not be refunded and apparently the package would not be sent to me. The phone cost me €1299. I appealed the decision and so far I have no news. I contacted the seller again to explain once more that I never said his package had not arrived. All I wanted was that since my friend has difficulty picking up the package with her ID card, he would send the package to my address as soon as the package was returned to him.
Could someone help me sort out this problem? I can’t pay €1299 to eBay and not receive my package.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Mentor1 year agoHello @benedicu_0 ,
Registered in Germany, you’re covered by ebay.de (not ebay.fr).
But if it’s like in France, an uncollected parcel isn’t covered by eBay’s buyer protection...
Best regards
