I'm going crazy! Abusive return request from the buyer!
Summary: gamecubeviolet sold an item to an Austrian buyer who requested a return without providing any evidence. After sending an expensive return label, the buyer did not send the package back. gamecubeviolet is having difficulties with eBay because neither eBay France nor eBay Austria supports their claim for a refund for the unused label. koalagris suggests checking the refund terms according to the provider used and reminds that leaving negative feedback for a buyer has not been possible since 2008.
Hello,
I sold an item, the buyer (Austrian) requested a return; he just sent a photo of the package, so I asked for proof of the missing items (an excuse to request a return), I never received any!
I was asked to send the buyer a return label, otherwise the buyer could keep the item and would be refunded...
So I did it at a cost of €40.
The buyer then had more than 15 days to send the package back, which he did not do... proving that his return request was abusive...
Today I gave up on the explanation of how eBay could have let this buyer request the return (buyers therefore seem to have all the power on eBay).
However, I want the refund for my unused return label, and eBay France tells me that it is eBay Austria that handles it since it is a dispute opened in Austria, and eBay Austria tells me that it is a French issue because the listing is in France...
so nobody wants to take my request into account, what can I do?
I also want to leave negative feedback for the buyer, how do I do that? apparently I only have the option of a negative rating!?

An unused shipping label can be refunded: you don’t specify whether you went through packlink or directly through a carrier.
In the first case (except that it has to be within 15 days max...) :
https://www.ebay.fr/help/selling/shipping-items/labels-packaging-tips/buying-printing-shipping-labels?id=4157&st=3&pos=4&query=Imprimer%20et%20annuler%20des%20bordereaux%20d%27affranchissement%20&intent=bon%20d%27envoi&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1118#section3
In the second: check with the carrier
No negative review possible against a buyer (since May 2008).
Best regards

OP5 months agoThank you for your reply.
I used a carrier since it was for abroad...
but since I used the buyer's email for the shipment I didn't have access to the case...
otherwise, since we can no longer leave negative feedback, how do we report this fraudulent buyer?
how come eBay didn't ask the buyer to prove that the package didn't match the description?
