La Poste suspends parcel shipments to the United States
Summary: vintagecinemacollection is concerned about restrictions on parcel shipments by La Poste to the United States, suggesting sending letters as an alternative. francexpressdeal advises referring to La Poste’s official statement for reliable information. vintagecinemacollection expresses a need for opinions from sellers in a similar situation and criticizes francexpressdeal’s comment. koalagris suggests that the inability to participate in certain discussion threads could stem from forum rules that vintagecinemacollection already knows about. The debate shows tensions around communication in the forum.
Hello everyone,
I can’t reply on the existing post ("La Poste suspends parcel shipments to the United States") and I had a question.
The article talks about goods that La Poste and Colissimo will no longer ship to the USA. I think we may still be able to get around the restriction by sending tracked export letters (for items under 3 cm thick)? We won’t be able to insure the shipment, but it’s still an alternative… Otherwise, I know several people who risk going under…
What’s even worse is that import fees will be paid starting August 29 by the sender (+15%), so even if we send with Chronopost (which isn’t restricted), we’ll be paying customs instead of the recipient…
Anyway, it’s a nightmare. What do you think?
Reminder article:
Have a good day,
Lionel

Mentor1 year agoHello @vintagecinemacollection
"I don't need advice from you on how this forum works" = so you know why you're unable to reply on the other thread.
Just like the reason why many won't be able to chime in on yours.
Which saves us from having to explain it to you...
😉
Have a nice day

Mentor1 year agoHello @vintagecinemacollection
if I put up the post office press release about this, it’s not for nothing. We need to stop posting links to pseudo-media that spout all kinds of nonsense.

If you still have questions, contact La Poste (international customer service). They’re the only ones who can give you more information.
As for wanting to work around the problem, do as you please, but take responsibility for it. It’s not this forum’s job to advise you on that.

"We need to stop posting links to pseudo-media that says all sorts of nonsense."?
France 24, a "pseudo" media outlet?
I have no questions about Trump's tariffs, I can read, thanks.
I just want to gather opinions from sellers like me, who sell in the US.
"do as you see fit": If we can no longer ship to the USA via Colissimo, we have to find an alternative solution or we might as well close up shop.
And I don't need any advice from you on how this forum works.
Thanks.
