The seller [Username] removes negative ratings.
The seller [Nickname] removes negative feedback, he wrote to me by email "screenshot taken" I reported it to eBay support.
I’m going to check with a consumer service to see if this is false advertising.

OP1 year agoIt must be important information. The advertisement will intentionally fail to present this information. For example, the main characteristics of the item, its price, delivery terms, etc. Under the law, the omission can therefore mislead the consumer.

Mentor1 year agoAnd the fact that ALL buyers MANDATORILY have a 100% profile since they can ONLY receive positive ratings (with a ban on leaving a positive with a negative comment), what do you think about that ???

Mentor1 year agoYou shouldn’t just see things through your own eyes, as you do, nor assume that the seller is always the “villain” and the buyer the “good guy” (with a buyer “king” position), but think about it in a broader way (which is what my post was inviting you to do): this rating system, which you are also calling into question, is just as misleading for sellers since it prevents them from identifying problematic buyers. What’s the point of keeping a percentage on the buyer side if it is, and will remain, invariably, at 100%?

OP1 year agoI’m not questioning this rating system, but when a seller puts reviews on their site and deletes the bad ones, what do you call that?
As you say, it’s not just buyers who have problems, there are also sellers with problems.
As far as problem buyers are concerned, I think it’s not up to the seller to deal with that, but rather the platform that hosts them.
The payment for the product is made between the platform and the customer; the seller remains a supplier and nothing else.
As the ebay customer service told me on the phone, if there is a problem, it’s us who will sort it out within 3 days.
As for me, the platform is beyond reproach; it refunded me the full amount.

Mentor1 year agoYou’re answering a question with another one, while deliberately straying from the topic, namely the rating system.
As already said, a seller can NOT remove ratings by themselves, it’s impossible, all they can do is ask the site to do it (which will only be done under certain conditions) = your rating was indeed removed by customer service, insisting on believing otherwise is a mistake.
Have a nice day

OP1 year agoI clearly answered your question:
- I am not questioning this rating system.
- Payment for the product is made between the platform and the customer, the seller remains a supplier and nothing more.
The buyer has no account to give to the seller since he is not his customer but the platform's, Besides, as I said above, it is the platform that took matters in hand and refunded me the full amount, not the seller. Is that clear enough as an answer?
As for the seller, he sent me a message via the platform that ebay forwarded to me by email telling me, I quote: "I deleted the rating" and not, I had the rating deleted.
If, as you say and I am happy to believe you, he could not do it, that is even worse because it becomes a mocking gesture toward a customer.

OP1 year agoebay confirms what I just said by writing to me:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We are taking care of the next steps.

OP1 year agoI don’t see how a seller can give an opinion on a buyer! I’m making a comparison based on what you’re saying, I’m going to buy a product at Leclerc and its supplier gives me a rating.

it wasn't the seller who removed your review, but customer service. If that was possible, it's because it violated the feedback policy:

"I'll check with a consumer service if it is false advertising."
First, it would be better if you reviewed the definition of "false advertising"...

OP1 year agoIf it's the seller who emailed me saying he deleted the review, while mocking me!
As for misleading advertising, I'll leave you with this article from French law.

"If it’s the seller who wrote me an email saying he deleted the review, while mocking me!"
No... The seller did what was necessary for customer service to remove the review, but under no circumstances was it him who did it...
Think for 2 seconds: if sellers could remove negative reviews, how do you explain that some sellers have them? 🤔
So do some minimum research before coming out with such nonsense.

Happy reading to YOU then! And above all, good understanding...
And to finish: have a nice day 🙂
