Empty letter on delivery
Hello,
I recently sold an item.
However, the buyer sent me a photo this morning upon delivery and the letter was delivered opened, the item was no longer inside.
What should I do? The “ contact us ” button doesn’t work on eBay and takes me straight back to the Help section homepage

If the buyer has opened a dispute, you provide the acknowledgment of receipt of the letter (minimum required for this amount) to eBay and wait for the verdict.
If you took out insurance for the value of the card, make a claim with the post office.

Unfortunately, I had only sent it tracked, without insurance…

Yes, I did send it as a tracked letter.
But I hadn’t included signature on delivery…

And yet the price paid deserved at least some care to protect you and protect your buyer... namely ---> insurance. for the amount of the item...
Now...
the buyer doesn’t have their purchase so turns to you....
which is normal...
But according to the facts you indicate...
nothing indicates that the envelope was not opened by your buyer -
you have a photo but..... do you have the testimony of the postal worker who delivered it... and “saw” the empty envelope...?
Without that.. it’s going to be difficult to ask you for a refund, it seems to me...
Wait for the outcome of the dispute that is or will be in eBay’s hands.

Remember to use insurance or signature on delivery for high prices... it’s + prudent.

OP1 month agoYes, I should have secured the envelope and had it handed over against a signature…
As for the envelope, nothing proves to me that it wasn’t the buyer who opened it himself…
