Dispute over an item not received
Summary: mr.gobou expressed concerns about a purchase made on eBay, where delivery was expected between September 14 and 22. The package is marked as "delivered" on September 11, but mr.gobou did not receive it. The seller said the item had been at customs since September 13, but did not provide a tracking number despite repeated requests. mr.gobou opened a dispute for item not received, pointing out inconsistencies and the seller's lack of proof, which is considered concerning.
Hello, I bought an item on September 6; delivery was scheduled between September 14 and 22 by eBay. The seller sent me a message on September 13 saying it was at customs and that it should arrive in 1 to 2 weeks. I look and it says it was delivered on the 11th even though I received nothing. I opened a dispute for item not received and he is asking me to close the dispute to file a request with customs and for him to refund me. He never gave me the tracking number even though I asked him for it.

Mentor1 month agoHello @mr.gobou
if you never had a tracking number, how did you know it was marked as delivered on the 11th?
Since the seller told you it had arrived at customs on the 13th, there’s a strong chance that this tracking simply showed a customs delivery.
Why open a dispute when the estimated delivery date was September 22 and the seller was keeping you updated on the tracking?

OP1 month agoHello,
Regarding the question of how I knew the parcel was marked as delivered on the 11th: in the “Purchased item” section, it clearly says “Delivered on September 11.” Yet I didn’t receive anything on that date.
Regarding the fact that the seller told me the parcel had arrived at customs on the 13th: that’s exactly why I asked him for the tracking number so I could verify that information. To this day, he still hasn’t sent it to me, even though he replies to my messages by asking me to close the dispute. I find that pretty worrying.
Regarding the possibility that the tracking might simply indicate delivery to customs: I have never seen a parcel marked as “delivered” while it is still at customs. Without a tracking number or proof of shipment, I therefore can’t verify that explanation.
Finally, I opened the dispute because several things seem suspicious to me and I’d rather take precautions. Even if the estimated delivery date was September 22, the fact that the parcel is already marked as “delivered on the 11th,” that the seller claims it has been at customs since the 13th without providing tracking, and that he asks me to close the dispute despite my requests for proof seems concerning enough for me to check the situation.

if the item is marked as delivered in your purchase history, then a tracking number is definitely provided.
all you have left to do is wait for the next step eBay will take regarding the ongoing dispute.
