International shipping...
Summary: aristide07jacques, a collector of German Bauhaus lamps, expressed frustration with eBay.de's changes requiring sellers to specify each country they ship to. This has limited his access to auctions since April 2023. francexpressdeal explained that specifying countries has long been a requirement for international sales, suggesting possible configuration issues with sellers' accounts. Despite contacting eBay.fr multiple times, aristide07jacques received no resolution. Other participants, including max2661953 and koalagris, pointed out the forum's limitations in resolving such issues. The discussion highlighted ongoing dissatisfaction with eBay's service and international selling policies.
As a collector, over the years I have bought many lamps in Germany, but for about 4 months now, eBay.de has changed this paragraph: for the German seller, accepting international shipping is no longer enough; they must specifically state every country they are willing to ship to... for them, it's unmanageable, and for the buyer, they simply no longer have access to the auctions... Who has encountered this problem? It would be surprising if I were the only one... Thanks in advance, Jacques

you say: " accepting international shipping is no longer enough, he must specifically specify each country to which he agrees to ship "
This way of doing things is not new; it does not date back 4 months. From the moment a seller agrees to sell internationally, it is normal for them to specify the countries to which they agree to sell in order to set shipping costs accordingly. Likewise, it also allows them to specify exclusions (countries to which they do not ship)
" for them, it's unmanageable "
I don't know if it was a seller who told you that, but it is perfectly manageable.
If you can't bid with a German seller, either they refuse to sell to France, or they've misconfigured their account for international sales.

OP3 years agoOne of the sellers even tells me that if he were to change his delivery conditions, eBay.de would charge him €3! so I think your seemingly very zealous response deserves a little revision...in the meantime, I keep fighting to keep my collection alive, but it's pretty discouraging, so thanks for passing this along to eBay.fr to move my requests forward, if this address is indeed really that of a member community...best regards, Jacques

" I’m attaching a few screenshots "
YOUR screens won’t show up ...
" I think, then, that your apparently very zealous response could use a little revision... "
If my very zealous response doesn’t suit YOU, YOU can also tell YOUR German sellers to contact their customer service directly. The problem very clearly comes from their account settings, so coming to look for a solution on the ebay.fr forum won’t help YOU at all ...
" thanks for passing me along to eBay.fr to move my requests forward, if indeed this address is really that of a member community... "
It’s precisely because YOU are on a peer-support forum with members like YOU, that no one will pass along YOUR problem. If YOU haven’t received any responses to date, there is a very good reason ...
Have a good rest of your day!

thank you for passing my requests along to eBay.fr so I can move them forward,
The EB members present on this forum have no more power than you do.

OP3 years agoconfirm that this major change has taken place; I’ve asked the question to eBay.fr support several times, always radio silence... let me restate: before
April 2023, as with us in France, the German seller accepted (or not) international shipping, and if needed simply specified the
countries to which they refused to ship, for me, that showed up as a message accompanying the listing: "Kein Versand nach Frankreich", things were
clear, I knew where I stood; today, the seller has to name one by one all the countries to which they agree to ship, that makes for a serious list, which I described as unmanageable,
that’s the word used by my sellers, much to FranceExpress's dismay, and if Europe is a reality, I don’t see what would be odd about my taking up this subject, especially since it harms me as a collector; eBay wouldn’t exist without buyers, it’s time they accept that very simple reality, and finally hear
what members here, in Europe and around the world, are asking them for... financial power and the laws of the wild market don’t exempt them from a minimum
of morality... thanks for your help.

Mentor3 years agoHi
anyway, you never seem satisfied with the answers you get (when you understand them) :
https://communaute.ebay.fr/t5/Aide-entre-membres/le-vendeur-annuile-plusieurs-ench%C3%A8res-en-cours-au-motif-d-une/td-p/2919930
not the first time we've explained the limits of the user-to-user forum, and the fact that it in no way replaces customer service (which your constant dissatisfaction here should logically lead you to contact directly).
best regards

OP3 years agoHi Koala, just so you know, I've lost count of the complaints I've made to customer service, ALL of them unanswered to this day: THEY’re going to look into the problem, THEY’re going to find a solution, so far THEY’ve never given me any more detailed reply than that...YOU can naturally accept everything from that thing called eBay, not me...to each their own values...besides, if 3 complaints, unless my memory betrays me, amount to perpetual dissatisfaction, I think we don't have the same idea of what words mean.

Mentor3 years agoHello @aristide07jacques and @ everyone.
Sir @aristide07jacques . .. instead of bickering/being rude.... and trying to force your point of view on the ebay.fr forum when your complaints concern Germany....
- you could ask yourself whether.... for example... German sellers might be a bit (or a lot..) fed up with the site's constraints and especially with the bad temper of French buyers, who cause them a lot of trouble, so they “put up a barrier”.....
On the other hand, if your German sellers really don't want to change their listings for fear of having to pay an extra €3 (which would need to be checked, perhaps)... they can put your username on this list, before you place your bids--> https://www.ebay.de/bmgt/ExemptBuyers? which would simplify the problem... BUT of course they have to want to do it, and you have to ask them to ...
It's not very smart to take it out on the people replying on this forum, who are in no way responsible for your problems with the sellers who are making you complain... because you shouldn't forget that the forum has a memory...
Best regards
