bad buyer
Summary: 2005pierrel shares his experience with a buyer who asked for a refund for a CD he received but did not want to return. After contacting eBay, he is advised to wait for the item to be returned before issuing a refund. koalagris points out that there is no recourse now and that it is impossible to publicly report the buyer for policy reasons. *miss-tigri* suggests putting the buyer on a blocked bidders list to avoid future interactions.
good evening everyone.
a buyer bought a CD from me, fair enough. he received it properly but is asking for a refund because it “didn’t suit him”, after some confusion I refunded him. now he doesn’t want to send the CD back to me, claiming he hasn’t received the refund.
I contacted Ebay, refund confirmed, but according to them I should have waited to receive the CD before refunding, they can’t do anything else.
what can I do with this buyer?
we can’t even leave a negative review anymore to warn other sellers.
it’s not about the price but about the principle and being able to flag this buyer to everyone.

Make sure to add them to your list of blocked bidders

"according to them I should have waited to receive the CD before refunding" = that's correct, and return shipping was at their expense.
By refunding before the return, you tacitly accepted that the buyer keeps the item, no recourse. 😞

OP2 years agothanks for your reply, I suspected as much.
how can I then report this buyer to everyone (besides mentioning their username to the community)?

Mentor2 years ago"how can I report this buyer to everyone (other than telling the community their username)?" = not possible because it is not allowed on the forum
