Automatic message received
Summary: huru.94 became concerned after receiving an automatic message from eBay about an identity verification, following changes made to his account. lingma85 warned him it could be a phishing attempt and advised reporting the message to eBay. After checking, huru.94 found that the message really did come from eBay and seemed to be related to phone verification. The two participants concluded that the incident was probably harmless, despite the initial concerns.
I made a few changes related to my account tonight and then went back to my business. When I came back to the app I saw an automatic message from eBay with the subject line: We have verified your photo ID.
However, I haven’t sent anything about this recently, so I was wondering if the subject line of this message was incorrect and just came from the fact that I made a few changes in my settings on the account tab?
If someone could shed some light on this, that would be great!
Have a good evening everyone 🙂

Mentor3 years agoHello @huru.94
You have the answer to your question.... by writing---> "I haven't sent anything about this recently"
So this is a phishing attempt that is quite popular at the moment... and it is also a coincidence with the fact that you made changes to your account.
Do not reply... do not open any link.... put the message in your trash after forwarding it to spoof@ebay.com who will no doubt tell you that you were right to be suspicious.
Best regards

If it’s exactly the same URL as the messages you previously received from eBay... that’s fine, but I have to admit it’s pretty strange...
