Complicated listings
Summary: matanto is having trouble selling old books without ISBNs and uploading photos of items like dolls on eBay. francexpressdeal suggests solutions, explaining that it's possible to create a listing without an ISBN and asking for more details about the photo issue. In the end, matanto finds a solution by categorizing the items under a different category, although they are not completely satisfied with the process.
Hello, I have 2 main problems right now on eBay with my listings :
1) impossible to list old books because they don't have an ISBN or something like that and my books don't have one.
2) impossible to list certain photos (Barbie doll, Playmobil characters etc...)
I'm seriously starting to get fed up, and meanwhile all my items are going on another site that's much + easier to list on.
Too bad because I've been selling on eBay since 2003 I find the community + serious but I'll be forced to stop offering my items here.
Thanks to anyone who can reply to me

The ISBN is requested to make the listing process faster, but if you don't have one, you can absolutely still put your books up for sale.
Start from "create a listing" and follow the instructions.
As for the photos, without more explanation, it's impossible to answer you.

OP3 weeks agoFirst of all, thanks for taking the time to reply to me,
of course I’m starting from "create an ad" but it no longer works, before I used to put 000000000 for the ISBN but now it’s impossible
and for the photos, as soon as it’s an object resembling a human it doesn’t work, for example Barbie doll, Playmobil figure, Mickey toy..
it’s becoming a pain to sell on eBay, not to mention the complications with delivery options where it’s an uphill battle compared with Vinted where it’s super simple, and anyway given the difference in site traffic (views) I’m not going to hold on to eBay much longer, too bad 25 years of loyalty badly rewarded

for listing it for sale, I did a test just before replying to you by simulating the sale of a book and I had absolutely no problem. I didn't have to enter an ISBN.
As for the photos, you say "it doesn't work", but do you get an error message or do the photos just not load?
Because there have recently been issues with photo uploads, and it may not be completely resolved yet.

OP3 weeks agoThanks again to you.
for the photos it gives me a no-entry sign on the cursor, impossible to go any further, I solved it by importing from the computer but it's tedious but it works.
for the ISBN or EAN, plus now that I'm being asked for each item I solved it by putting everything in the "Collection" and "other" category
so there you go, it works but it's not really good work.
Thanks anyway for trying to help me

when I did my test, I was indeed in the books category and once again, I didn’t have to enter the ISBN.
I just looked at your sales and you do have books in the "antique books" category with no ISBN at all. Start from one of those listings and do "sell a similar item" by making the appropriate changes.

OP3 weeks agoYes, it was working fine until yesterday, I’ll try again during the day and see, otherwise I’ll find a solution, humans adapt ;)
In any case, thank you all very much and have a good day
