Summary: haselme72 pre-ordered a model airplane nearly a year ago via eBay, but it still hasn’t been delivered, despite repeated assurances from the seller that the problem would be resolved. Recently, haselme72 tried to contact the seller without success and asked eBay to step in, but was told that the guarantee could not be applied because the deadlines had expired. koalagris and *miss-tigri* confirm that eBay’s customer guarantee no longer applies after a year, and that the possible course of action would be to negotiate directly with the seller.

pre-order placed and paid for since 09/05/2023 (so nearly a year ago), and delivery postponed several times since then, on the grounds given by the seller (in this case "[Pseudo]" in the United Kingdom, and who apparently is still active on ebay) of "their supplier being late".
Last email from the seller on March 20, where he confirms to me that the problem has now been resolved with his supplier, and that customers' orders should be fulfilled soon.
Still seeing nothing happen, I decide to contact him by email via ebay yesterday, and -to my great surprise- impossible to send the message!
I contacted ebay this morning to ask them to step in, and they told me that "having not respected the protocol set by ebay, they could no longer intervene now..." (when I had every reason to believe that the problem had been resolved by the seller, as they recommend in their protocol).
Has anyone else encountered the same problem with this seller on ebay, who is nevertheless still active on the site?
It would be completely abnormal in that case for ebay to remain totally silent, and simply "be nowhere to be found" (...).
Thanks in advance for any information and details you can provide, so that I can possibly consider other steps

eBay guarantees a pre-order for 30 days, if payment is via PayPal, it will be 180 days, but in any case the deadlines are already long overdue for you ..
The only possible arrangement will be with the seller ..

The eBay customer guarantee is time-limited and therefore cannot apply to pre-orders dating back 1 year...
