IVECO ENGINE
Summary: glaetitia574805 had a problem with an Iveco engine under warranty, which had to be replaced after only 20 kilometers. Despite the seller's initial agreement to issue a refund after inspection, the seller is refusing to refund because the oil pan and turbo were replaced. lingma85 advises contacting the DGCCRF if the seller is in France, but notes that if the seller is abroad, the options for recourse are limited.
Hello
I have a question regarding an engine that we bought and that is covered by the seller's warranty, and after 20 kilometers the engine had problems and we had to replace it at our expense.
Following discussions with the seller, he arranged for a carrier to collect the engine and, since the crankcase and the turbo were broken, we replaced them in order to send back a complete engine as originally received. In the discussions, the seller stated that after checking the engine he would issue a refund since it had only been driven 20 kilometers and the diagnosis had been sent to him.
He has now received the engine and is telling us that he will make no refund, even a partial one, because the crankcase and the turbo were replaced. What recourse do we have, knowing that this engine is in their possession and we do not have the possibility of getting it back?
Thank you for your feedback

If your seller is a French professional, you can use the legal means available to you, including filing a case with the DGCCRF near your city after informing your seller...
If that is not the case, or if it’s a foreign seller... I’m afraid you won’t be able to do much unfortunately.
Kind regards
