Non-disclosure of my tax ID number
Summary: galinettedantan expresses their dissatisfaction with the obligation to provide tax references in order to keep selling as an individual on eBay, believing that there is a difference between the number of items sold and the total amount. *miss-tigri* and koalagris explain that this requirement is due to a legal directive applicable to all sales platforms, suggesting consulting the regulations for more information. koalagris also advises addressing any complaint to the legislator. galinettedantan has decided to temporarily stop selling while waiting for possible changes.
It’s shameful to be forced to provide your tax details in order to keep selling as a private individual! The amount not to exceed is 2000 e - and 30 sales over
1 calendar year - Where is the mistake?
There is a difference between 30 items sold and 2000 e .
If you sell on average 1 item for 10 e , you won’t exceed 300 e !
so why comply with disclosing private information ?
I tried to communicate with Ebay about this , they refer only to the LAW.
So I have stopped, for the moment, listing items for sale . Maybe Ebay will be able to change things after reacting .after the authorities when they see their turnover drop §
I hope my rant will make you react .

Mentor2 years agoNo one can ignore the law, and all sales platforms are affected.
Your complaints should be addressed to the legislator...
(otherwise just stick to the 2 annual authorized flea markets)

Mentor2 years agoThere is no tax number to provide for a private seller.. I suppose eBay is asking you to switch your account to a business account..

It seems that private sellers also have this obligation ..
