Different manufacturer part number in the listing: compliant or not?
Summary: rsim4913 wants to buy a used motherboard with a specific part number, but uncertainty remains because the seller is not responding to requests for additional photos. francexpressdeal confirms that if the number does not match, this is considered a non-conformity, which would make it possible to request a refund even if the seller refuses returns. francexpressdeal notes that the seller's lack of response is concerning.
Hello,
I would like to buy a used computer product with a motherboard that has a specific part number (Manufacturer Part Number).
This motherboard is rather sought after, and it has already happened to me to come across similar products where, by looking at the seller’s photos, the number did not match the one in the listing.
I found another seller (a private individual) who is selling this product with the manufacturer part number I need; the number is clearly indicated in the listing but the photos do not allow me to confirm it.
I asked him for more info/photos, but no reply.
So my question is:
if I buy the product and realize upon delivery that it is not with the right motherboard, is that considered non-compliant? and would I be able to ask for a refund?
the seller states that returns are refused on his account.
Thank you

if the item you receive does not match the manufacturer number indicated by the seller, yes, that is considered a non-conformity.
So you will be able to get a refund after returning the item. A seller cannot refuse a return if the item is non-conforming.
That said, a seller who doesn't respond is not a very good sign right from the start.
