Defective item and negative review
Summary: rawlsjohn bought a non-compliant mechanical part from a professional seller and left a negative review. The seller is offering a 10% refund, but rawlsjohn prefers to warn the community about the non-compliance of the parts offered by this seller. koalagris points out that there isn't much else to do after leaving a negative review, while *miss-tigri* mentions that some sellers may manage to get negative reviews removed. rawlsjohn is concerned about the seller's attempts to manipulate the situation.
Hello everyone.
I bought a non-conforming item from a professional seller (a mechanical part that turns out not to be the right size). I left a negative review, but the seller is offering to refund me 10% of the order (the part in question may be worth that much). But I do not want this "arrangement"; instead, I would rather let the community know that this seller sells defective parts "kits". However, I can see that the seller is trying to get around this by sending lots of seemingly conciliatory messages (but in very bad faith). What should I do?

Mentor1 year agoHello
If you don’t want to accept their offer, continue with your return and refund request ..
As for the negative review, some sellers manage to get them removed and there’s nothing you can do about it .

Mentor1 year agoHello @rawlsjohn
You’ve already left a negative one, there’s nothing else you can do.
Best regards

OP1 year agoI was asking the question because the seller is being "persistent" by trying to drag me into absurd discussions and making "proposals" to solve "my problem" (mine, then..). Since I'm not very familiar with the current practices on Ebay (never had a dispute), I was wondering whether he wasn't trying to maneuver his way out of the negative feedback (which I want to leave because I want to warn the community that his kit is defective)
