Missing item after delivery
Summary: tijah82 sold a pair of Bose headphones on eBay and shipped them via Mondial Relay. The buyer reported that the headphones were missing upon receipt, although the package appeared to have been resealed with different tape than the one originally used. tijah82 opened a claim with Mondial Relay and is looking for advice on getting compensation in such cases.
Hello,
I'm asking for your advice regarding a rather unusual dispute.
I sold a pair of Bose headphones on eBay for €75. The shipment was sent via Mondial Relay with insurance up to the value of the parcel.
The buyer told me he had received the parcel, but that when he opened it, the headphones box only contained the
accessories. The headphones and their charging case were missing.
He also said that it seemed to him the parcel had been resealed with clear adhesive tape. Looking at the photos he sent me, I can indeed see a clear tape that does not match the one I used for shipping (I only use brown adhesive tape).
I immediately filed a claim with Mondial Relay. The parcel was insured for €75.
On the other hand, I did not take a photo of the parcel before shipping, and the buyer did not take a photo before opening it. This is the first time I have encountered such a situation.
My question is this: have any of you ever obtained compensation from Mondial Relay in a case of missing contents or suspected theft? What evidence did you provide, and which steps were the most effective?
Thanks in advance for your feedback and experience.
