Undelivered item
Summary: annachorete discussed buying an antique item on an online platform that never arrived, despite the site issuing a full refund. The problem is that neither the seller nor the platform wants to file a claim to recover the item, and La Poste only deals with the sender. lingma85 replied that the matter is closed for the buyer because they were refunded and explained that the item could either be returned to the sender or sold as lost property. According to them, this is a process that annachorete can’t control, since there is no longer any financial loss.
Hello everyone. I bought an old and unique item on Ebay US. The seller used the Ebay shipping platform to send it to me. Unfortunately, this item never arrived. Ebay refunded me in full, thank you. The problem is that the seller, who was paid, does not want to deal with filing a claim to find the item and apparently Ebay doesn't either. La Poste's customer service only deals with the sender. So it's a shame, no one can claim this item, which may just be stuck somewhere. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks.

As the buyer... you have been refunded, which means the matter is closed on your side..
On your seller's side... it would seem that they have been compensated... so they're doing what they deem best with their item...
As for the item itself... it is certainly not lost on everyone...
either it will be returned to the sender..
or it will become part of the lost items put up for sale in lots on specific dates, as is done to clear space in lost-and-found warehouses..
or it was simply stolen.. then...
But all of that is no longer your concern or problem since there is no financial loss left at stake.
Kind regards
.
