Item not received, eBay buyer protection
Summary: pamar-14 explained that they did not receive an item ordered on eBay, even though the tracking shows it was delivered. According to La Poste, the item was actually returned to the seller. Despite their efforts to resolve this issue with eBay and the seller, they have received no help and are being accused of lying. lingma85 advised appealing eBay's decision with documentary evidence and suggested other possible actions, such as contacting the DGCCRF if the seller is French.
I ordered an item on EBay covered by buyer protection.
The seller and EBay say that I received the item in my mailbox, which is completely false; La Poste tracking confirms it was returned to sender. On the online tracking it says delivered to your mailbox, but at La Poste they told me it was returned due to a routing error and delivered to the seller’s mailbox.
Neither EBay nor the seller are making any serious effort to find the parcel or refund me.
I’ve been insulted as a liar for weeks. I’m not sparing any effort to make myself heard, but no one is following up.
I asked EBay for help, but they didn’t even take the time to contact me and closed the case as resolved in the seller’s favor.
Can you help me please?
Thank you in advance

Mentor2 years agoHello @pamar-14
In this case, you should have asked for a copy of the postal tracking for your purchase and challenged eBay's decision with your proof (scan) showing that the item had been sent back to the seller...
Appeal an eBay decision regarding a return or a missing item for buyers | eBay
The guarantees offered by the site are tied to respecting the deadlines set for claims and their follow-up...
You can always try to challenge it with the proof if you haven't gone past the deadlines provided.
IF you can no longer do anything on eBay's side... and if your seller is French, you still have the registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt if you have their address.. and possibly the DGCCRF if that seller is a professional.
If they're foreign, you can give up..
Best regards
