Item received damaged by eBay International Shipping

Summary: starxe-94 ordered an item in the United States and received it in France damaged. The seller said the damage was probably caused by eBay International Shipping repackaging. koalagris advised following eBay’s procedure to return the item and get a refund.

Hello,
I ordered an item in the USA and I live in France myself.
When I received the item, I noticed some damage. So I sent several photos to the seller and asked what the next step should be.
The seller replied that the damage was not present when he packed it.
He told me that this damage must have occurred during the repackaging done by EBay international shippings.
The seller was therefore not responsible for the current dispute, and I don't know who to contact or how to proceed.
Please help.
