Item sold not delivered and returned damaged
Summary: le_collectioneur38 explains that after selling an item on eBay and using Mondial Relais for delivery, the parcel was never handed over to the buyer and came back damaged. Hello,
I sold an item and used Mondial Relais shipping from the eBay sales page. The delivery driver never presented the parcel to the buyer and it was returned to me broken. Mondial Relais says that eBay has to contact them for compensation.
I wrote to eBay, who isn't replying.
What should I do?
The buyer is very nice and I'd still like to send them their item, but I don't want to pay for shipping again when there has been no refund for the service not provided by Mondial Relais

Mondial relay doesn't deliver.... the recipient has to travel (at least for a M.R. shipment in France) to pick up their purchase...
Then you also write -----> " I would still like to send him his item"
Don't you think it's a bit surprising to read what you wrote...??
- it's still rare for a seller to insist on sending a broken item back to their buyer because the buyer is nice...
You'd be better off refunding him, shipping costs deducted since the buyer didn't make the trip...... that will cause you fewer problems...---> Refunding buyers | eBay
And then deal directly with Mondial relay about the damage if it's indeed their fault...
(a clean parcel with no external damage... but broken item inside...==> seller's fault for poor packaging, so no reimbursement from the carrier..)
