Item sold on another site
Summary: linea_39 sold an item on a site other than eBay but was unable to remove the listing from eBay, which led to an additional sale. Despite attempts to contact them, they were unable to cancel the transaction on eBay, which refunded the buyer and is now asking linea_39 to reimburse the fees. lingma85 suggests solutions for deleting listings and settling fees on eBay, while koalagris points out a question previously asked by linea_39, criticizing the lack of rigor in managing listings.
I put up an ad on eBay to sell an item and I also listed that item for sale on another site. I sold this item on the other site and I wanted to delete my listing on eBay but I wasn’t able to figure out how to remove it so I left it and someone bought it from me. I explained the situation to him but he told me that eBay refused to cancel the transaction and I tried to contact them but I couldn’t find how to do it and now they have refunded the buyer and are asking me to refund them, I don’t know how to contact them. I would like to know what I risk if I don’t pay.

Mentor1 year agoHello @linea_39
You already asked the question on May 21:

"I wanted to delete my listing on e-bay but I wasn’t able to figure out how to delete it so I left it" // "I tried to contact them but I couldn’t find a way" = due to sheer laxity....

Mentor1 year agoGood evening @linea_39
To cancel a listing, it's here-----> End a sale | eBay
You say----> " now they have refunded the buyer and are asking me to refund them,"
Ebay refunded the buyer with the funds that the buyer had deposited....
- you are probably being asked to pay the commission and any other fees there may be for this transaction (even if it failed)...
For ebay to be paid, you need to add a payment method to your seller account...
Set up and change your payment method for fees and other selling costs | eBay
Best regards
