Obviously not sent
Hello, I bought a book on the 29th with the seller's promise to send it within 3 days and that I would receive it by December 5 at the latest. Today, December 9, the item still hasn't been sent (which prevents me from being able to involve eBay), and the seller isn't responding to my messages. Besides canceling the order (and definitely being too late to give the item in question as a gift), what can I do? Thanks

"the item has still not been sent (which prevents me from being able to involve eBay)" = ???
Opening a dispute for non-receipt is absolutely not dependent on shipment (thank goodness: that would be a source of abuse).
You just need the delivery deadline shown in the listing to have passed:

OP1 year agois determined once the item is actually shipped, right? In
this case, the item never left the seller's place... I don't see
how to get eBay involved on that basis, and yet I looked on
the page whose link you sent me.

OP1 year agoHello, thank you, but I suppose that the "delivery deadline" is determined once the item is actually shipped, right? In this case, the item never left the seller's place... I don't see how to get eBay involved on that basis, and yet I did look on the page you sent me the link to.

Mentor1 year agoHello @sargasses
As @koalagris told you (😘 ) the deadline does not depend on the shipping...
- it is indicated on your order, see here-----> https://www.ebay.fr/mye/myebay/purchase ( display order details )
If this date has passed without delivery, don’t think twice... = .. act----->
Help a buyer who hasn't received the item | eBay
- open this link and follow the instructions..

Mentor1 year ago"I suppose that the "delivery deadline" is determined once the item is actually shipped, right?" = I already told you no (otherwise the seller would just have to never ship anything in order to never refund? think about it; that would make no sense).
The delivery deadline is calculated automatically based on the payment date + the shipping time stated by the seller when the listing is created + the average transit time (depending on the carrier) = once the item is paid for, it can no longer change.
In short: it is noted in the purchase history.

If you don't see the dispute option on the item you bought, it's simply because that date hasn't passed yet (D+1)...

OP1 year agoThank you both, Koalagris and Lingma 85.
I’m going to follow your recommendation.
Best regards 🙂

Mentor1 year agoOne last thing: you need to understand that to "ask eBay to intervene", you must first have opened a dispute at least 3 business days ago, so if you’re looking for this option without having started a dispute, you probably won’t find it...
