Dispute opened
Summary: meloche02 bought a used electric bike on eBay and ran into several problems, such as an incorrect delivery and product defects. After trying to resolve the issues with the seller, who became unreachable, meloche02 wants to know how to access eBay's warranty. koalagris informs meloche02 that the deadline to open a dispute on eBay is 30 days from delivery and suggests that options for recourse are limited because that deadline has passed.
Hello,
I bought an electric bike from a private seller. Received on 02/29, I had problems right from the start: not delivered to my home, damaged when I opened the box!
I couldn’t ride it right away, but as soon as I could, there were still little issues. The battery was advertised for 60-70 km, but in the end at 20-25 km I have to recharge.. I told the seller right away, who tells me he needs a video and that he doesn’t believe me.. I had health problems, so no bike..
I go back to the bike description and realize that there are 5 modes on my bike, whereas I only have 3..
Yesterday I send a message to the seller explaining everything and asking for his email so I could send the videos, and there he tells me it’s been more than 6 months (false) and that I needed to get moving, etc etc..
My question is: I saw that I could use the EBAY guarantee, but I can’t access it, or at least get a contact to speak with EBAY, because of course the seller has become a ghost..
Could you help me or give me a contact please?
Thank you in advance
Amélie

Mentor2 years agoHello @meloche02
The deadline to open a dispute on eBay is 30 days from the delivery date...
https://pages.ebay.fr/acheter/garantie-client/
"You must contact the seller within 30 days from the delivery date"
You bought a second-hand item from a private seller in February 2024 = no recourse after that much time.
(if you paid by PayPal: with them, the dispute deadline is 180 days from the payment date, return shipping costs at your expense)
