Waste of time, waste of money
Summary: jetmig expressed frustration about an online sale where the buyer never picked up the package or responded to messages, forcing the seller to issue a refund. This led to financial and time losses for jetmig, while also highlighting the difficulties and lack of recourse for sellers dealing with unresponsive buyers. lingma85 replied by suggesting not to worry too much about this experience and to enjoy the holidays with loved ones, while acknowledging that the issues raised are nothing new.
A sale dated December 12. The buyer bid and paid. Sent via Mondial Relay (as stated in the listing).. 1) the buyer never went to pick up their parcel 2) never replied to any of my 7 messages regularly informing them of the tracking updates provided by Mondial Relay 3) time passed and now Mondial Relay is going to send the parcel back to the original Mondial Relay point ==> I am refunding the buyer today and eBay is deducting the amount from my account for this transaction...
1) it's a small amount but the Mondial Relay shipping costs are on me
2) the item in question -which I could have sold to someone else- will have been unavailable for practically a month
that person is very much alive (their account works since eBay was able to issue a refund) and of course they will face no sanction. Sellers (pro or private individuals) are by default considered suspicious and potential scammers: member for over 20 years, seller in the "PayPal era", then again a seller with the "new system", I had to prove my identity twice (passport copy), I had to go on at length for who knows how long about a **bleep** relay point postal code being different from the buyer's postal code...
Conversely, a buyer who wastes your time, your energy and even a few euros, no recourse (except to block them, which I have done anyway), and they probably have the option to leave you a negative review. Ain't that just foooormidable?

Mentor2 years agoGood evening @jetmig
What exactly do you want...?
- to recount your failed transaction..? ----> ....if that's the case, there are sellers who put their account/shop on vacation for the Christmas/New Year period to avoid the scatterbrained, free loans of items or clothes during the holidays, attempts to get free purchases...etc....
- to provide additional testimony about unreliable buyers...? and/or a different treatment between sellers and buyers...?
None of this is new and unfortunately it won't get any better when everyone can see that the word "honesty" has almost disappeared from the dictionary...
Don't work yourself into a state over a bad sale... forget about it and above all have a lovely New Year's Day with family or friends... it's more essential for your morale...
I wish you a beautiful New Year without any bad experiences.
Best regards
