Plants delivered to the pickup point, not collected, buyer completely inactive, what should I do
Summary: demiev_60 shares a frustrating experience where a buyer didn't pick up the plants they ordered despite several messages. lingma85 advises patience and recommends contacting eBay in the event of a dispute. koalagris reveals that sending plants via Mondial Relay is prohibited, which can complicate claims. demiev_60 expresses disagreement and dissatisfaction with the situation. The discussion centers on frustration and the complications related to non-compliant shipments.
Hello,
I’m sharing my experience here: a buyer bought two plants from me, shipped as soon as possible, arrived at the Mondial Relay pickup point three days earlier than expected. I sent three messages on eBay: the first to let her know the package had been sent, the second to let her know it had arrived, since the Mondial Relay tracking showed it at the pickup point but still in transit on eBay. No reply. I sent a third one to remind her to pick it up, because these are plants and with this month’s temperatures, I’m afraid they’ll die. Still no reply.
So now I’m in a situation where the buyer will probably request a refund, and my plants will die (even if they’re sent back to me, I clearly stated on the sales page that returns are not accepted.) What can I do? How do you deal with people acting in bad faith?

Mentor3 years agoHello @demiev_60
"What can I do?" = nothing, especially since sending plants is not allowed via Mondial Relay

OP3 years agoGood to know, but everyone does it, even the professionals

Mentor3 years agobecause there are very few checks on the contents of parcels or none that have damaged other packages (if that is the case, the sender gets a fine), that said, in the event of a carrier failure and/or an unnecessary return, there's no point making a claim to MR because the plant is dead....
demiev_60
OP3 years agoactually I don’t see the connection with my question, I didn’t think about asking MR for it
koalagris
Mentor3 years agoif you don't find it useful to learn, in the course of your question (and by extension to "what can I do?"), that your shipments are in violation of Mondial Relay's terms of service, that's your business... we're here among users, capable of thought and reflection, you're not talking to AIs.

OP3 years agoI don't get the impression that you're trying to help me, in quotes, but rather trying to condemn me; skilled or not, I don't know, but not to the point that AIs do it, that's for sure

Mentor3 years agoit's a shame that you are not able to understand that one of the reasons why MR shipping is not allowed is precisely to prevent the plants from dying...
= do whatever you want with this info (and think whatever you want of my comment, I couldn't care less)

Mentor3 years agoGood evening @demiev_60
When you're dealing with people acting in bad faith?" you ask...
"bad faith"...? for now that's not the issue since this buyer is silent. Internet connection problems and health problems can also affect contact.
But to get back to your question------> NOTHING, unfortunately. Just wait for your buyer to go pick up her plants and/or for the package to be returned to you.
If by chance your buyer doesn't go pick up her parcel but complains to eBay... reply right away in the dispute that you did what was necessary to warn her, with proof to back it up. You can also contact eBay to alert them to what happened. Go through this link------> eBay customer service (see at the bottom of the page "contact us" - do it during office hours preferably) and ask to be called back...
Be patient. 😊
Best regards

OP3 years agothanks for your response, maybe leaving living things to die in the package on purpose is not bad faith to you, but for me it's disrespectful, I did everything so it would be sent as early as possible, I do not tolerate this kind of irresponsibility. yes, connection problem happens just one minute after we place two (not one) orders on ebay, I have good reason to believe that's bad faith.
Anyway, I'm leaving ebay

Whatever your feelings.... and whether it’s on eBay or elsewhere... take a look at the following link------> Rules on plants and seeds | eBay this may still be useful to you.
