Refund popup
Summary: jeanmarcch complains about an intrusive pop-up, "ebay 0% Refund," appearing on eBay pages in normal mode, but not in private browsing. *miss-tigri* suggests clearing the browser cache and cookies, while francexpressdeal says to look up how to clear the cache on Firefox under Linux. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. jeanmarcch reveals that the pop-up comes from the Zamu extension and not from eBay, which is confirmed by francexpressdeal, who suspects malware. By removing this extension, the problem is solved.
Hello,
For the past 1 or 2 days, every eBay page I open is being plagued by a pop-up "ebay 0% Refund" that keeps coming back no matter what I do.
What is this about?
Thanks

OP2 years agoIndeed, it was coming from the Zamu extension 😡
Thanks

OP2 years agoI also have a doubt, a very strong one even, since the pop-up address is:
s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/cdn-de.zamu.com/ebay_com_73a3353be8.png

So this pop-up isn't from eBay.
Search the web to find out how to get rid of it because it's probably malware.
It could also come from an extension you added to your browser.

OP2 years agoThanks, but deleting the cookies and clearing the cache didn’t fix anything. Only private browsing mode works. Weird 😕

in that case, the best thing to do is to contact customer service directly

OP2 years agoI contacted customer service but got no response.
This pop-up is annoying and private browsing, if it works, is very restrictive for logging in.
But does anyone know what this cryptic pop-up means that says exactly:
ebay 0% Refund to ebay FR
Activate now
No, I'll activate later

you were in contact with customer service, so it was to them that you should have asked the question.
Because, precisely, this "pop-up" doesn't mean anything, and I doubt that it comes from the site. Or else there’s a serious problem! (One more...)
Get back in touch with customer service and look into this with the "trust and safety" department.

OP2 years agoThanks,
Oddly enough, it only happens in normal mode, not in private browsing (I'm using Firefox on Linux).
As for cookies, I know how to do that, but not for the cache

Mentor2 years agoHello @jeanmarcch
" For cookies, I know how to do it, but not for cache "
Do a Google search using: " How to clear Firefox cache on Linux ".
You’ll find several " tutorials " that explain how to do it.

Mentor2 years agoHello
Try clearing your browser cache and delete all the cookies, just in case that’s what’s causing the problem ....
If not, contact customer service.
