Price proposal and buyer security fees
Hello
Why are the buyer protection fees included in the price offer made by this buyer?
Message: " The buyer offers you €25, you will receive €23.40" !!!
This means the seller ends up paying the buyer protection fees.
system needs to be reviewed

Mentor1 week agoHello @moribob
that's perfectly normal since buyer protection fees are paid to eBay and not to the seller.
Buyer Protection fees - Information for sellers | eBay
I quote: "If a buyer bids or makes an offer on a listing, the Buyer Protection fees are included in the amount of the bid or offer. That way, they know exactly how much they will pay if they win the auction or if their offer is accepted. The seller sees the amount of the bid or offer without the fees. So they know exactly what amount they will receive."

OP1 week agoIt doesn't make sense for the seller:
when the buyer offers the seller (not eBay!) an amount of €25 (instead of an initial price of €30, for example), the seller should receive €25 and not €23.40 (out of the initial €30).
It would have been better if the buyer had offered €25 to the seller and eBay had shown them the new buyer protection fee amount in parallel.

"It would have been better if the buyer had offered €25 to the seller and eBay had simultaneously shown him the new amount of the buyer protection fees."
Except that a buyer who offers 25 euros isn't going to appreciate ending up paying more in the end.

You’re not earning less, just what was planned from the start.
If you’re having trouble understanding that, please take it up directly with customer service.
