seller protection against a buyer’s dishonesty
Summary: c3922 expresses frustration about the lack of protection for sellers on eBay, especially in cases where a dishonest buyer could return a defective item and get a refund. lingma85 suggests being vigilant by setting strict conditions for sales and mentions the possibility of contesting eBay’s decisions. max2661953 points out the potential inconsistency in being able to report a buyer if eBay often sides with them.
Hello everyone,
Why aren't sellers protected and automatically blamed...??? If a seller sends an item that works and the buyer receives it and claims it doesn't work, then replaces my item with a defective one ??? So I lose the shipping costs and my item... and the buyer gets refunded and has won a free item, that's disgusting !!!! why isn't it possible to report a buyer who does that? especially since my buyer is buying with an account with no profile and no feedback !!!!!!

why is it not possible to report a buyer who does that?
If EB sides with the buyer (as is often the case), do you think it will then be possible to report that buyer? Not very consistent, is it?

On eBay, there is no special protection for sellers, unlike the pampering of buyers.
So it’s up to the seller to be very careful and especially to put barriers on the listings, along the lines of "without prior contact, the sale will be canceled"... for example: - and you sell by auction, which can give you time to check the status of your potential buyer, and act...
On the other hand, you also have the option of contesting the site’s decision----> Contester une décision d'eBay concernant un retour ou un objet manquant pour les acheteurs | eBay
You may have other input that will give you other ideas...
Best regards
