Postage fees question
Summary: clarollis wonders why the shipping costs for a set of stamps from Italy vary so much between different sellers, ranging from €4.50 to €16, and why buyers can’t choose their preferred shipping method. francexpressdeal explains that this choice depends on the sellers, who may prefer registered shipping to avoid problems, but suggests contacting the seller to ask for tracked shipping if desired.
Hello, if someone could explain to me why the same item, in this case a series of 7 stamps, coming from Italy, listed several times on the site (or even on other sites) has shipping costs that can vary from one to four times as much. In the best case €4.50 (tracked), in the worst case €16 (registered). At that price, it's more than registered mail. And it's impossible to change and choose the shipping method desired by the buyer. I don't need registered mail, tracked shipping suits me perfectly, I've never had any problems. Why can't the buyer choose their shipping method? And why is this kind of transaction tolerated with fees based on nothing? Thank you. Kind regards. ML

the question should be asked to the sellers, since they are the ones who decide on the amounts;
"Why can't the buyer choose their shipping?"
Quite simply because that is a choice that falls to the sellers. As a buyer, you may never have had any issues, but the seller may have, and that is why they require registered mail.
That said, nothing stops you from contacting the seller and asking them for tracked shipping.
