Dispute resolution
Summary: norton57-08 shares their experience ordering a perfume on eBay, intended as a birthday gift for December 7. The package, sent late by the seller without a tracking number, does not arrive on time. Despite opening a dispute, eBay says the order was delivered and refuses compensation. lingma85 advises disputing the decision. norton57-08 followed that advice and is now waiting for a response.
Hello, I’d like to share my experience with you: I buy a perfume on November 30 to give on December 7 for a birthday. The seller, who nevertheless has a 100% rating, says the parcel was sent with Colissimo on December 2, without being able to provide the tracking number in eBay... So after 48 hours I ask him for the tracking number to find out where my parcel is. The seller tells me he can’t find it, which seems suspicious to me. On December 9, still no perfume; the birthday has passed since the 7th and I haven’t received anything. I open a dispute on the 9th to report that I still haven’t received anything; Colissimo delivery times are two to three days max. No more response from the seller until the day I ask eBay to intervene, on December 13. The seller tells me that the parcel was “stolen” by the Post Office, then found with my address... since he doesn’t have a tracking number... to tell me that the parcel was now sent with Colis Privé (shipping date shown in eBay as December 11). So the seller waited until I opened a dispute to send my order 11 days after payment. Why this message? Because eBay considers that I received my order on December 13 and refuses to compensate me, protecting a very dubious seller who caused me to miss the chance to hand over my gift. The deadline indicated in eBay to receive this order was December 7, yet eBay apparently prefers to protect shady people. I had to urgently reorder this perfume on **bleep**, and it was delivered to me in 24 hours. Well done eBay. Today the seller is intervening to get me to remove the negative feedback I left him, which he fully deserved, and so he can keep doing this to other buyers while displaying a 100% positive profile. So what is eBay doing against thieves ????
